Blog Basics
Before we talk about adding a blog to your website, we should talk about blogs a little bit first. "Blog" is short for web log, which basically just means you're making logs or log entries on the web. This is sort of like an online journal.
If you decide to blog for a professional page, you need to really think through the content that you'll be blogging about. It's best to blog 3-5 times a week. That will keep people coming back to your site to see what you're putting up on your blog.
Blogs can be of a personal nature or a business nature. If you're blogging for business, you can blog about new products, new product sales or promotions, new ways to use products, best practices, etc. It's always a good idea to keep your eye on discussions that are happening in your field so you can see what people are interested in and take blog content ideas from those discussions.
Join a few forums or subscribe to a few websites in your niche. You'll soon have more blog post ideas than you'll know what to do with! Just keep track of them by documenting them and then put yourself on a posting schedule. You can even go so far as indicating on a calendar what you'd like to post about in your blog on each day.
Blog posts are displayed on your page in reverse chronological order, which means that the last post you enter will be at the top of the page. This way, your audience will always see the most recent news you've posted.
Now let's get to adding a blog to your Weebly site.

Now let's get to adding a blog to your Weebly site.
Adding a Blog to Your Weebly Website
Adding a blog is as easy as adding a new page to your website. In fact, let's take a look at the Pages menu that we already looked at when adding new pages to our website.
As you can see, adding a blog is just like adding a page, but you click the "+Add Blog" button instead of the "+Add Page" button. Once the Blog Page is added, adding content to the blog is quick and easy! See the blank blog post page below, and then what it looks like once I've taken about 2 minutes to add a title, content, and categories.
Notice the options that are available above in the elements menu. Adding a YouTube video can really help people feel like they're getting to know you better. The Read More Break will allow you to have a teaser paragraph and hide the rest of the blog post. This will help you by allowing your readers to see more than 1 blog post when they land on your Blog page. Readers can read an entire blog post by clicking the Read More link at the bottom of the post. But they'll also be able to see the titles and first paragraphs of at least one more blog post that was posted before the most recent post. This can entice users to spend more time on your site.
This page shows what it looks like when you have added some text, a picture, entered the title, and added some categories. Once the post is published, the page looks like the screen shot below.
Weebly does most of the work for you! You have to come up with Titles, content, and categories, but other than that, it will take care of the rest!
